PRODUCTION OF 5-HYDROXY-ALPHA-PYRONE AND ITS GLUCOSIDE, USE OF 5-HYDROXY-ALPHA-PYRONE AND NEW ALPHA-PYRONE-5-O-(BETA)-D-GLUCOSIDE

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain the subject compound useful as an agent for preventing aging of plant, etc., in high efficiency at a low cost by extracting a compound, etc., belonging to genus Erigeron with a solvent. CONSTITUTION:Plant belonging to genus Erigeron and capable of producing 5-hydroxy-alpha-pyrone or alpha-pyrone-5-O-(beta)-D-glucoside is extracted with a solvent and the objective 5-hydroxy-alpha-pyrone or alpha-pyrone-5-O-(beta)-D-glucoside of formula (R is H or beta-D-glucoside) is separated and recovered from the extraction liquid. The alpha-pyrone-5-0-(beta)-D-glucoside can be converted into 5-hydroxy-alpha-pyrone by acid hydrolysis.
