The largely circular or elliptical cross-section of the space within the sphere enables sound to be guided directly to the shortest possible path. The horn is divided centrally so that the reflex system may attain a length of 30 cm to 3 m. Several applications are depicted in cross-section with one or more active or passive acoustic transducers, either direct or reflex.
