A photoreceptor (10) for use in a two color electrostatic imaging process comprises a conductive substrate layer (12); a first photogenerating layer (14) which is sensitive to a first wavelength e.g. blue a unipolar hole transporting layer (16) substantially transparent to the first wavelength and a second photogenerating layer (18) which is sensitive to a second wavelength e.g. red and at least partially transmits the first wavelength. An apparatus for forming multi-color images of an object employing the above photoreceptor of the invention, wherein the color images are properly registered with respect to each other, comprises a movable first corotron (21) to positively change the photoreceptor (27) in one direction which is then exposed to original on platen (26) through a red filter (25), and a movable second corotron (22) to negatively charge the photoreceptor in the opposite direction which is then exposed to the original with unfiltered white light (24) and the two images developed with a negatively charged black laser and a positively charged red toner, to give a black and red image. <IMAGE> |
