<p>The spinnaker pole (11) disclosed herein is adapted to be attached at one end to the mast (53) of a sailboat (51) and provides, at the other end, an end fitting (31) which is freely rotatable around the longitudinal axis of the pole (11) and which provides, on opposite sides of that axis, first (37) and second (39) fairleads for freely passing guys (61, 71) to the clews of a spinnaker. The free rotation of the fitting (31) allows a tensioned guy (61) to align the respective fairlead thereby to avoid twisting of that guy and, since both guys (61, 71) pass through the fitting (31), detaching and re-attaching of guys (61, 71) to the pole during jibing is avoided.</p> |
