<p>A steel laminate type cylinder head gasket (A) is installed in an engine having a cylinder block (P) with a cylinder bore (Hc), a cylinder head (J) with an auxiliary combustion chamber (M) and a mouth plate (L) attached to the cylinder head (J). The gasket (A) is formed of first and second plates (A12, A11) laminating together, a compressible member (A18) and a sealing device (A16) for sealing around the cylinder bore (Hc). The first plate (A12) includes a hole (A12a) adjacent the cylinder bore. The hole (A12a) is located under a part of the mouth plate (L) to form an elongated strip (A12d) between the hole (A12a) and the cylinder bore (Hc). The compressible member (A18) is situated inside the hole (A12a) to support the mouth plate (L). A supporting device (A13b) is also formed at the elongated strip (A12d) to support the mouth plate (L) together with the sealing device (A16).
