PURPOSE:To display multi-color of high color purity by laminating a plurality of liquid crystal layers having ECB effect, and controlling optical phase difference of respective liquid crystal layers. CONSTITUTION:Between a reflecting plate 1c and a second polarizing plate 5 opposite to each other, a plurality of liquid crystal layers 4a, 4b having property of birefringence are laminated through a first polarizing plate 2 between. Consequently, reflecting light 6b can be colored by the use of white light, the liquid crystal layers 4a, 4b have ECB(Electrically Controlled Birefringence) effect, and because the birefringence factor is varied at applying electrical field, reflecting light 6b of various hues can be taken out. Hereby, a liquid crystal display panel capable of displaying multi-color of high and bright transmission factor and high color purity can be obtained. |
