PURPOSE:To provide a magnetic alloy with high saturated magnetic flux density and low coercive force and to improve its thermal stability and corrosion resistance by specifying the content of Fe, N, Si and the elements to be added in a magnetic alloy by atomic ratio. CONSTITUTION:The compsn. of a magnetic alloy is constituted as a formula: FexNySizMv. In the formula, (x), (y), (z) and (v) satisfy the relationship of, by atomic %, <=y<=10, 0.5<=z<=10, 0.3<=v<=10 and (x)+(y)+(z)+(v)=100. M denotes the elements to be added of at least one or more kinds selected from Ti, V, Cr, Co, Ni, Cu, Y, Zr, Nb, Mo, Ru, Rh, Pd, Ag, Sn, Sb, Hf, Ta, W, Re, Os, Ir, Pt, Au and Pb. By using the above magnetic alloy, good recording and reproducing to a medium having high coercive force can be executed, furthermore, a thin film magnetic head of high performance or the like can be manufactured, and magnetic recording and reproducing of high density can be realized. |
