PURPOSE:To provide the subject apparatus capable of proceeding a reaction which is difficult to proceed by conventional apparatus owing to the viscosity of the reaction system and the generation of gas, etc., by using a reaction bag for the biological reaction or chemical reaction and rotating the bag in a reaction tank. CONSTITUTION:A substrate, an organism or chemical substance for the substrate and a solvent, etc., are introduced into a reaction bag 3 for performing a biological reaction and/or chemical reaction to the substrate in the presence of an organism or chemical substance and the bag is sealed. The reaction bag 3 is attached to a rotating apparatus 5 in a reaction tank 2 containing a liquid maintained at a constant temperature with thermostats 10,11. The rotating apparatus 5 is rotated with a driving apparatus 9 in arbitrary direction at arbitrary speed to stir and grind the substrate in the reaction bag 3 and promote the above reaction.
