PURPOSE:To simplify an ink supply route by making possible an ink tank cartridge mounting part with the joint use of an ink tank which holds a variety of inks and an ink tank cartridge which holds only a signal type of ink. CONSTITUTION:A signal ink tank cartridge 10 consisting of three independent ink holding parts for yellow, magenta and cyan is mounted on an ink tank cartridge mounting part 20. In addition, an independent ink tank cartridge 11,12 is provided for each color, and is mounted on the ink tank cartridge mounting part 20 independently. The ink tank cartridge mounting part 20 also allows a signal ink tank cartridge 10 and an independent ink tank cartridge 11,12 for each different type of ink to be mounted. After the mounting of these components, an ink supply needle 213 allows the supply of each color from the ink tank cartridge to a recording head for each color through ink supply paths 201, 202, 203. |
