1,255,812. Feeding records. MOTOROLA Inc. 24 March, 1969 [29 April, 1968], No. 15210/69. Heading G4M. Detection of a special mark or marks 51 on a document causes the rotation speed of an ejection feed wheel 18 to be increased from its normal value, e.g. by a factor of 6, whereby the document is fed out of a processing station such as a reader at a higher speed which may be such as to overshoot a first hopper 60. A system of pulleys and one-way clutches coupled to a single drive motor is described for driving ejection wheel 18 and an entry feed wheel (not shown). The entry wheel is driven at the normal speed but is able to free wheel at the increased speed should a document still be under it when the speed of wheel 18 is increased. The trailing edge of a document may also be detected, e.g. by the data-sensing photo-cells or a separate photocell 83 to speed up a document leaving the processing station. The duration of the speeded up drive may be limited to one rotation of the main drive shaft. |
