PURPOSE:To prepare the title particles having micropores with sufficient diameters and a sufficient compressive strength by saponifying and cross-linking spherical particles obtd. by evaporating a solvent for liq. droplets formed by suspending a low-boiling-solvent soln. of a low-mol. -wt. glucomannan ester contg. a foaming agent in an aq. medium. CONSTITUTION:A low-mol. -wt. glucomannan ester obtd. by esterifying low-mol.- wt. glucomannan or by lowering the mol.wt. of glucomannan while esterifying it and a foaming agent are dissolved in a solvent which has a b.p. lower than that of an aq. medium and which is insoluble or hardly soluble in the aq. medium, thereby giving a stock solution. The soln. is suspended in the aq. medium to form liq. droplets, from which the solvent is removed by evaporation, giving spherical particles of the low-mol.wt. glucomannan. The particles are saponified and reacted with a cross-linker to give the title particles having a mean micropore size of 0.5-10mum. Thus are obtd. spherical particles having micropores through which a substance having a size of the order of mum can permeate and having a practically sufficient compressive strength. |
