PURPOSE:To easily fix and remove carbon dioxide in exhaust gas with high efficiency in low cost by fixing carbon dioxide in industrial exhaust gas as acetic acid by anaerobic fermentation using anaerobic acid producing bacteria and methanol. CONSTITUTION:Carbon dioxide in industrial exhaust gas is fixed as acetic acid by anaerobic fermentation using anaerobic acid producing bacteria and methanol. At this time, carbon dioxide in the industrial gas is used in a form of water-soluble carbonate. As the above-mentioned anaerobic acid producing bacteria, bacteria of the genus Clostridium, the genus Acetobacterium or the genus Butyribacterium are used. As a result, carbon dioxide in the industrial exhaust gas can easily be fixed and removed and carbon dioxide fixing quantity can markedly be increased and acetic acid being one of fundamental products of the chemical industry can be obtained with extremely high efficiency in low cost. |
