The invention relates to a spreader with, arranged inside a surrounding frame, cells for holding parallel elongate fuel rods together in a bundle in the fuel cartridge of a nuclear reactor. The walls of the cells are formed by a first system of parallel band elements 5 standing on end with a distance between them corresponding to one rod spacing and, running at right angles thereto, a second system of intersecting band elements 5 with a corresponding spacing between them. According to the invention, the flow resistance of the spreader is reduced by every other band element 5 belonging to the first and, respectively, the second system being divided into an upper 6 and a lower 7 beam. The upper beams 6 are arranged on an upper level 9 in the spreader and the lower beams 7 are arranged on a lower level 10 so that the beams on one level have a distance between them corresponding to double rod spacing. The remaining band elements 5 in the spreader are arranged with retained mutual positioning on an intermediate level 11 between said levels 9, 10 and also have a distance of double rod spacing between them. The various levels of the spreader are held together in a unit by the surrounding frame 13. <IMAGE> |
