PURPOSE:To eliminate the background image containing a noise by deriving a gradation level value of a picture element for dividing a real image part and a background image part of the periphery of the real image part from a gradation level distribution of the picture element and setting it as a threshold, and converting a fetched image to a binarized image, based on this threshold. CONSTITUTION:An image F1 is inputted to a threshold calculating part 2. The threshold calculating part 2 derives a threshold for dividing a real image part in the image F1 and a background image part containing a noise and sends it to a binarizing part 3. The binarizing part 5 converts the image F1 to a binarized image by using the derived threshold, and sends it to a mask pattern generating part 4. The mask pattern generating part 4 converts the outline outside of a real image in the image F1 and the outline inside to a picture element of an L level and a picture element of an H level, respectively by using the inputted binarized image and generates a mask pattern, and sends it to a mask processing part 5. The mask processing part 5 applies a mask processing to images F1-Fn or images G1-Gn by using the inputted mask pattern, and converts uniformly a picture element of a background image part containing a noise to an L level. |
