The apparatus for making chopped strands of glass filaments comprises (a) the plurality of spinning furnaces(12) positioned parally, (b) applicators (15) for coating lubricant, (c) main guid rollers(19) for introducing fiber strand(17) to feed roller(21), (d) a main feed roller(21) for winding-up the fiber strand, wherein the surface of the feed roller is made from polyurethane rubber; wherein the glass strand is drawn only by frictional contacting with the surface of the main feed roller(21), and (e) a cutting roller to cut the glass strand by constant length.
