The thief-proof mounting is for a motor-vehicle number-plate, and comprises a baseplate with peripheral U-section edge (3). This edge contains two insertion slots (9) at one side of the mounting (1) while bending U-section locking members (4,5) are fixed to the baseplate (2). These have locking hooks (7) on each of their flanges, and one of them (5) has a central rib (8), also with locking hooks. ADVANTAGE - Allows unhindered changing of number plate, or makes it thief-proof.
