PURPOSE:To improve visibility of marked characters by providing a square opening mask in front of an emitting end of a laser beam machine. CONSTITUTION:A laser beam 10a emitted from the emitting end 2 of the laser beam machine 1 is passed through the mask 3 having a square opening, condensed by a condenser lens 7 by operating an X axis regulation galvanometer type mirror 5 and a Y axis regulation galvanometer type mirror 6 via an optical axis regulation mirror 4 in a scanning unit 8, moved on an irradiation point of a laser beam 10b having a square cross-sectional shape and a workpiece 9 is grooved and the characters are marked thereon. Consequently, ruggedness of the peripheries of the marked characters are obviated, the peripheries of the characters are made sharp and the visibility is improved. |
