The accessory is switchably connected to a telephone terminal (FS) having a dialling device and handset (HA). The accessory comprises a fixed part (FT) into which a mobile part (MT) may be plugged. When the mobile part is removed, it remains in contact with the fixed part via a radio link for communication with a remote subscriber. The remote subscriber can be heard from a loudspeaker (L) in the fixed part. The removal of the mobile part causes a h.f. receiver (HFE) and an l.f. amplifier (NFV) in the fixed part to be coupled to a supply voltage from a mains adaptor (SN). When inserted, rechargeable batteries (LB) in the mobile part are charged, the state of charging being indicated by an LED indicator (LD). ADVANTAGE - Applicable to any telephone appts. No acoustic feedback problems.
