Small flat rubber bags which can be inflated by connected tubes are produced by placing two raw sheets of elastomer between open mould tools, with edges slightly projecting over the mould impression, placing a tube in recesses round the edges of the mould so that one end of the tube lies between the elastomer sheets and the other end is over the mould, closing the mould and gripping the projecting edges of the sheets, injecting compressed air between the sheets through the tube so that they are pressed against the mould walls and heating the mould to cure the sheets so that gripped edges become bonded together. The mould used has a fabric over the cavity on one or both mould tools, the fabric is pref. rayon or mixed nylon and Teflon.
