A closure (10) for a container (30) in the form of a closure cap has a mechanically actuated button (34) that is centrally located and generally recessed. The button (34) is surrounded by a plurality of dished areas (40) which, when the closure (10) is applied, will engage an end sealing surface (32) of a container (30) and cause deflection of the dished areas (40) to result in an annular portion (36) surrounding the button inverting to project the button (34) axially upwardly from its original recessed position. The closure (10) may be enhanced by other tamper indicating arrangements (50-54) which are sealed to the closure (10) by way of a translucent panel (54) overlying an end panel (12) and bonded at its periphery (18) to the closure (10). The translucent panel (54) can have a layer (52) of material above the button (34) having a layer of adhesive (50). The layer of material (52) carried by the translucent panel (54) may be formed of a frangible material or may be removed from the translucent panel (54) either to remove a message or to make a message visible. <IMAGE> |
