PURPOSE:To prevent the burglary of an automobile by giving a key a specified identification code, reading another code by the insertion of the key, comparing it with a preliminarily registered reference code, and allowing the rotation of the key only when they are coincident to each other. CONSTITUTION:When a key 50 is inserted into a key cylinder 12, a code reading part 51 reads the identification code of a code memory part 50a. The read identification code is compared with a reference code preliminarily stored in a controller 54, and when the codes are coincident to each other, the controller 54 transmits unlock signal to a solenoid 55. An operating beam 56 is then lowered and slipped out from the lock hole 58 of a cam body 13. Therefore, the cam body 13 is made rotatable, the key 50 is rotated, and the cam body 13 retreats a slider 14 to release the lock of a steering. On the other hand, when the read identification code is not coincident with the reference code, the lock state of the cam body 13 is kept by the operating beam 56. Thus, the burglary of an automobile can be prevented. |
