<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a formed inorganic material having improved impact resistance, toughness, etc., light weight and excellent fire-resistance, workability and holding power of nail, screw, etc., by adding a long fiber reinforcing material to a mixed slurry produced by the addition of a polymer and a fiber to a slurry of hydrated calcium silicate and integrally forming the obtained mixture. CONSTITUTION:A calcareous raw material and a siliceous raw material are mixed with each other at a CaO/SiO2 molar ratio of 0.8:1 in the case of tobamolite and the mixture is subjected to hydrothermal synthetic reaction to obtain a slurry of calcium silicate hydrate. A mixed slurry is produced by mixing 100 pts.wt. (in terms of solid) of the hydrate with 3-50 pts.wt. (in terms of solid) of a polymer such as carboxy-modified styrene-butadiene copolymer latex, 5-20 pts.wt. of short fibers and water. The objective formed inorganic material is obtained by carrying out the dehydration molding of the slurry while integrating with a material produced by impregnating an unsaturated polyester resin in a long-fiber reinforcing member such as glass fiber roving, laminating in the form of a lattice and solidifying the product.</p> |
