PURPOSE:To protect a thin hole part which inserts a fiber core part at the disconnecting of a connector for optical fiber by providing an outside cylinder which is projectively energized to the end face side in said connector. CONSTITUTION:A plug 17 inserted with and holding the resin layer 4 and core part 3 of a fiber is mounted to a plug aligner 19 by means of a lock screw 18. A ring- shaped key 31 is provided to the rear end part of the lock screw 18, and a lock screw outside cylinder 33 operating intergrally with this lock screw 18 in the rotating direction is provided by means of this key 31, and a coil spring 34 is interposed between the lock screw flange 183 and outside cylinder small-diameter part 193. If the connector 11 is disconnected from the state that the external screw part 191 of the plug aligner and the internal screw part 182 of the lock screw 18 are held screwed, the outside cylinder is advanced to the end part side by the energizing force of the spring 34 until the key 31 abuts on the lock screw flange 183, so that the end part of the plug 172 is protected. |
