PURPOSE:To shorten a time required for a recovery operation to a great extent by a method wherein two web cutters are provided, and when paper is jammed, the paper is cut in two processes, i.e., during running and after stop, to be discharged and fed. CONSTITUTION:When paper is jammed in a paper jam recovery device for folding machine, which is provided on a folding machine attached on a rotary printing press with a plurality of nip rollers between a vertically folding former 1 and a laterally cutting cylinder 10, a running web 2 is cut by a first web cutter 14 on the downstream side of a downstream nip roller 9, and the web fed from the upstream side is discharged outside the machine. When the web stops running, the web 2 is again cut by a second web cutter 40 above the downstream nip roller 9. When printing is restarted, the unnecessary web 2 on the downstream side of the second web cutter 40 is discharged by the downstream nip roller 9, and the web on the upstream side is supplied to the cutting cylinder 10 by a nip roller 7 and the nip roller 9. |
