The invention relates to a method and a machine 1 for placing in envelopes articles of clothing, in relation to which the individual articles of clothing 2 are arranged in succession, at full length, on two first conveyor devices 107, 108, are fed alternately to respective stations 110' which deposit, on contact with each article of clothing 2, a stiffening sheet 110, are folded in a predetermined manner, and are fed in alternating succession into respective containment elements 11 that move stepwise into a gap 54 defined by a web 52 of wrapping material folded lengthwise along its centre line and able to move stepwise in the longitudinal direction. The web 52 is then sealed transversely and cut immediately upstream of a position that is occupyable, in the course of a pause, by each containment element 11, and each envelope 53 obtained as a result of this operation, containing one article of clothing 2 and still having one side open, is removed from its respective containment element 11 and passed on to a sealer-cutter device 34 which completes its closure. <IMAGE> |
