PURPOSE:To form a cavity section easily and properly on a back rest of a surface layer material for a seat by storing a cavity covering section to be formed on a skin material in a recessed hole of a bottom force and injecting a foaming resin material into a cavity in the state that a peripheral edge of the cavity section is brought into contact with an upper end of the recessed hole by means of a contact section provided on a projected section of a top force. CONSTITUTION:A skin material 12 is loaded in a bottom force 1, and a cavity covering section 19 of the skin material 12 is stored in a recessed hole 6 formed in the bottom force 1, and then a top force 2 is lowered for mold clamping. Foam-molding resin is injected into a cavity K in the state that a peripheral edge of a cavity section 18 is brought into contact with an upper edge of a recessed hole 6 of the bottom force 1 by means of a contact section 28 formed on a projected section 9 of the top force 2. The peripheral edge of the cavity section 18 of the skin material 12 is fixed in the bottom force 1 by said arrangement to prevent the deviation of the skin material 12, and a pad material 30 provided with the cavity section 18 corresponding to the projected section 9 can be foam-molded. As the peripheral edge of the cavity section 18 is brought into contact with a positioning section 21 of the bottom force 1 through the contact section 28 provided on the projected section 9 for forming the cavity of the top force 2, the foaming resin material can be prevented from flowing into the recessed hole 6.
