PREPARATION OF DECORATING FILM AND DECORATIVE MOLDED PRODUCT

PURPOSE:To make a decorating film easy to conform to the cavity surface of a mold and to prevent the warpage of a decorative molded product after integral formation by forming a decorating layer to at least one of the surface and rear of a base film composed of polybutylene terephthalate and forming an adhesive layer to the rear thereof. CONSTITUTION:A base film 11 is composed of polybutylene terephthalate and pref. formed by an inflation method or a simultaneous biaxial stretching method. A decorating layer 12 is formed to at least one surface of the base film 11 by a printing method or a coating method such as a reverse coating method, a gravure coating method and an adhesive layer 13 is formed to the entire rear of the base film 11 after the decorating layer 12 is formed to the base film 11. The adhesive layer 13 is formed by a coating method or by the extrusion lamination or dry lamination of an adhesive film having an m.p. lower than that of a resin 6. This decorating film is placed in molds 3, 4 and subjected to vacuum or air-pressure forming to be allowed to conform to a cavity surface. Next, the molds are clamped to integrally mold the decorating film 1 and a molded article 2.
