The invention relates to a rotor (4) for an electric motor comprising a pinion (2) fixed to a shaft (3) and a magnet (4) mounted on the said shaft (3), characterised in that the fastening between the magnet (4) and the pinion (2)/shaft (3) assembly is achieved by tack welds (7) made between the adjacent faces of the pinion (2) and the magnet (4). Moreover, the pinion (2), at its end adjacent to the magnet (4), comprises a cutaway groove (6) forming a shoulder. The invention is applicable to quartz watch mechanisms. <IMAGE>
