PURPOSE:To obtain the power charge/discharge efficiency 100% or above by changing the hydrochloric acid concentration of a chlorine/hydrogen secondary battery according to the heat energy, and recovering the energy discharged as heat energy directly as electric energy. CONSTITUTION:The charging/discharging method feeding high-concentration hydrochloric acid during charging and low-concentration hydrochloric acid during discharging is employed, and a secondary battery system is constituted of an electrolytic cell 13, a chlorine reservoir, a hydrogen reservoir, a low- concentration hydrochloric acid reservoir 14, a high-concentration hydrochloric acid reservoir 15, a medium-concentration hydrochloric acid reservoir, and a hydrochloric acid enrich device 17. A high-concentration hydrochloric acid solution is fed during charging, the electrolysis of hydrochloric acid is performed at high efficiency, and electrical energy is converted into chlorine gas and hydrogen gas. A low-concentration hydrochloric acid solution is fed and chlorine gas and hydrogen gas are fed during discharging, then the fed chlorine gas and hydrogen gas are converted into electric energy at high efficiency. The power charge/discharge efficiency 100% or above is obtained. |
