<p>PURPOSE:To remove fine carbide particles in engine exhaust gas by forming a number of cells by means of porous metal partitions extending from one end face to the other end face, opening one ends of respective cells and blocking the ends by means of end face walls. CONSTITUTION:The outer shape of a filter element a1 is cylindrical and composed of a collective body 2 composed of the collection of a plurality of porous metal cells 1 with one ends open and the other ends closed. Said collective body 2 is manufactured by laminating flexible sheet-shaped components 3a on which metal powder is carried and a corrugated sheet 3b consisting of corrugate processed components on which metal powder is carried similarly and winding the same in the spiral shape and sintering. At that time, said sheet-like component is pasted to every other opening of all the honeycomb openings provided on both end faces of the cylinder to block said opening. Said filter element a1 can be incorporated in a gas exhaust system, and fine carbide particles in the exhaust gas can be removed and regenerated easily.</p> |
