The windscreen detector apparatus comprises vertical and vector components of aircraft acceleration relative to the ground and relative to the sustaining air mass for forming discrepancy signals. The vertical and components define a corresponding resultant ground acceleration vector. A xyz warning is provided upon signal exceeding a predetermined value. Signals are provided which are to the rate of change of discrepancy signals. A second yxa warning is provided in response to the first and to the rate of change of signals. A signal is provided which varies in accordance with the magntiude and the rate of rotation of the corresp. vector resultant and the component acceleration vectors.
