Illuminated dental inspection mirror - includes miniature lamp and reflector integrated and inbuilt in handle of instrument

The mirror can be exchanged for inspection or actual dental treatment, both procedures being facilitated by the built-in illumination. The current supply for the miniatures lamp (1) is provided via a flexible copper or steel wire cord (2) leading to a mains power-pack (3). The colour of the light is white to blue-violet for better recognition of the structures of the tooth surface. The illumination can alternatively be provided by an optical fibre in the handle (4), a light projector being provided in the power pack. A lens and reflector in the handle directs the light to the inspection or treatment area.
