<p>Screw cap opener made of plastics or rubber is for opening bottles or other containers closed under vacuum, with only partial threads to increase air tightness and maintain aroma. flavours etc. A plastics or rubber ring is placed round the cap with its inside surface and has a slot radially in the outer face with tabs either side. The ring should be L shaped, in cross section, with the short leg acting as a stop for the cap top surface. Friction between opener and cap is improved when the inside of the ring is roughened or fitted with suckers. Two or more grip tabs can be fitted to the outside to good effect, especially for greasy hands.</p> |
