The work chamber (4) of the pump piston (1) is controlled by a magnet valve (2) dependent upon the load of the diesel engine, and is closed by a dividing piston (3). This piston can be a two-part staged piston which with its part (3a) with the largest dia. closes the pump piston (1) work chamber (4). With its smaller dia. part (3b) it closes its own work chamber (3b). In the work chamber (5) of the dividing piston (3) water is fed via a check valve (6). Via a pipe (7) and a check valve (8), fuel is fed from the work chamber (4) of the pump piston (1) to the work chamber (5) of the dividing piston (3). This means that there is then a mixt. of fuel and water in the dividing piston work chamber, and this mixt. is fed via an injection channel (9) to a chamber in front of the nozzle (10).
