PURPOSE:To stabilize a light emitting power and to improve an accessing speed by regulating so that the average value of a read modulation power at the time of emitting a read power is same as monitoring power to be input to an APC circuit at the time of emitting an erasing power. CONSTITUTION:A set signal V2 to a second control current source 12-2 and a set signal V4 to a fourth control current source 12-4 are regulated so that, when light emission of a laser diode 10 is regulated, the average value of a modulation current IMOD modulated from a peak read current IHFM at the time of emitting a read power is same as a monitoring current IM at the time of emitting an erasing power. Accordingly, a variation generated in an automatic power control (APC) can be prevented at the time of switching between a read light emitting power and an erasing light emitting power. Thus, a laser diode control of an optical recorder/reproducer having high stability and response can be performed. |
