PURPOSE:To minimize the traffic of a network by specifying a server that secures the desired information to be acquired in the first broadcast and then transferring the data to only a single specified server for acquisition of the desired information. CONSTITUTION:When an answer is received from a server, a work station receives M pieces of answer packets and selects a single server to give an inquiry to this server about the information. Thus the server receives the inquiry from the work station and sends an answer packet to the station. Then the work station decides the presence or absence of an answer given from the server and starts the transfer of a data packet to the server when an answer is received from the server. Thus it is possible to prevent a large number of undesired answer data packets flowing through a network and to minimize the traffic of the network.
