PURPOSE:To prevent toner from being caught and stuck between a spacer roller and a photosensitive drum by keeping the spacer roller away from the photosensitive drum while the photosensitive drum rotates from the position of the tip of a cleaning blade up to the position at which the spacer roller is located. CONSTITUTION:With completion of reproduction, toner D remaining at the position of the tip of a cleaning blade 5 or at the position advancing from the position of the cleaning blade tip begins to move at the same time when a photosensitive drum is rotated. Thus, while the whole of the toner D is passed through the position at which a spacer roller 3 is located, the spacer roller 3 is controlled to be kept away from the photosensitive drum 1. The time is taken as a specified time required for the photosensitive drum 1 rotating from the position of the tip of the cleaning blade 5 up to the position where the spacer roller 3 is located. Thus, any possibility of the remaining toner sticking to the spacer roller is eliminated, and images of good quality without unevenness in concentration or white stripes can be formed. |
