The overload clutch assembly includes two coaxial coupling plates (10) whose coupling faces are provided with radial toothed profiles (20). The latter are in mesh, when a torque in the accepted range is transmitted. When the transmitted torque is above this range, the coupling teeth are disengaged. To reduce the time, the teeth slip over each other per revolution, while circumferential segments (24) outside the teeth profiles separate them for the major part of each revolution.
