The double-walled spherical tank (1) for liquids or liquefied gas has its inner wall lined (3) at least up to the maximum permissible height for filling. The liner (3) top rim (18) is joined to the inside of the outer pressurised container (2). The liner (3) consists of adjacent segments (13) composed of a network of gaps (16) bridged by bridging sections (19)) of suitable material. The bridging sections (19) are elastically deformable at least at right angles to the gaps longitudinal axis. Each segment (15) is supported on the outer pressurised container (2) by means of at least one spacer piece (17). USE/ADVANTAGE - The tank has a space between its double walls which transmit pressure exerted onto its outer wall onto the inner casing.
