PURPOSE:To protect a horizontal deflection circuit even in the case of abnormality where an over load state is not generated in a horizontal deflection circuit by detecting the abnormality of a horizontal output pulse outputted from a horizontal deflection circuit or a flyback transformer pulse and stopping the operation of the horizontal deflection circuit. CONSTITUTION:When crack or something is generated on one part of the substrage of a horizontal deflection circuit block 1, the operational state of the horizontal deflection circuit block 1 becomes an intermittent operation state. Therefore, the voltage rectifying the hotizontal output pulse or the flyback transformer pulse is detected by a detection means so as to check the operation of the horizontal deflection circuit block 1. By the deterioration of this voltage lower than the prescribed value, the abnormality is judged by detecting the intermittent operation of the pulse and the deterioration of the height of the pulse. Thus, the abnormality other than the over load state is detected to interrupt the horizontal deflection circuit 1. Thus, the danger of the smoke and firing caused by the horizontal deflection circuit built in many television sets can be prevented. |
