ALIGNMENT PIN FOR A CONTROL-ROD GUIDE ELEMENT

Already known in the art for aligning control-rod guide elements (4) with the bores in the cover grid (6) of the reactor core in a reactor pressure vessel are alignment pins (2) which are fitted in the baseplate (8) of the control-rod guide element (4) and inserted into the bores (7) in the cover grid (6). The invention proposes an alignment pin (2) whose guide section (14), designed to be inserted in a bore (7), has a slot (18) extending down parallel to the longitudinal axis (16) of the guide section (14) and ending before the free end (20) of the guide section (14). This significantly reduces the danger of cracks forming inside the pin (2) at the level of the upper surface of the cover grid (6).
