PURPOSE:To obtain a recording medium which is available for rewriting, and is duly producible, excellent in safety and stability of recording by a method wherein the recording medium is composed of a layer made of crystalline polymer as a principal ingredient of which crystallinity changes reversibly as the temperature changes, and a coloring layer which is arranged, adjoining the aforementioned layer. CONSTITUTION:A coloring layer 2 is arranged, adjacent to a layer 3 made of crystalline polymer as a principal ingredient, which becomes transparent and/or cloudy as the crystallinity thereof changes as the temperature changes. As the layer made of crystalline polymer is heated up to the temperature above the melting point of the crystalline polymer and is treated by slow cooling afterward, the crystalline polymer becomes cloudy. Therefore the coloring layer does not develop color. When quick cooling is applied, the crystalline polymer becomes transparent, making the coloring layer develop color. These phenomena occur reversibly. Such materials as copolymer made of vinylidene fluoride and trifluorethylene or the like are usable as the crystalline polymer for the layer 3, and such materials as Al, Cr, carbon black or the like are usable for the coloring layer 2. |
