Nutrient medium contains activated human blood plasma, pref. in amt. up to 10 vol.%. Pref. the blood plasma contains increased amt. of albumin and a reduced amt. of gamma globulin and substance inhibiting cell growth; the protein is pref. 50-70% albumin, 20-40% alpha and beta globulins and less than 10% gamma globulin. The nutrient pref. contains a hydrolysate of lactalbumin, RPM1-1640 or nutrient medium 199. The blood plasma is pref. activated by treatment with polyethylene glycol.
