Coating ceramic object - by resin coating, heating and applying particles esp. of mineral or glass

In the coating of a cermaic object by applying a synthetic resin to its surface and then heating to fix the resin to its surface and then heating to fix the resin on the object, particulate material with a melting point above the temp. to which the resin is heated, is applied to the soft resin coating on the (re-) heated object. Also claimed are appts for further coating a resin-coated ceramic and a plastics coated ceramic article. The particulate material is pref. a mineral or glass powder with a melting point above 180 (pref. above 230) deg.C Pref. the powder is blown in a gas stream onto the object, pref. rotating about an axis inclined at up to 90 deg. to the glass stream, directly after heating to set the resin. USE/ADVANTAGE - The process is useful in prodn. of vases and plant pots. It produces a matt antique finish on the ceramic object. (Dwg. 2.3/3)
