The binding has a base (2) on which a foot-gripping strap (10) is mounted, where a part of the strap is connected to the base via a mechanism (20). The mechanism is hinged relative to the base around a pivoting axis (7) parallel to the longitudinal middle plane of the binding, in order to move the part outwards when soft boots are fitted. The mechanism has a pivoting axis (8) to pivot the part in a folding movement toward the base.
