A winding device is used to wind single or multiply folded fabric webs with two alternately driven winders (39, 40) in front of which are arranged guide tubes (86, 87) secured on frame discs (26, 27) directly and one side adjustable. Each winder (39, 40) has two coaxially arranged tension heads (90 to 93) which, during winding, clamp the near fabric web edge and the near winding core end with clamping jaws.
