PURPOSE:To enable recording having high resolution and gradation on plain paper by forming a region displaying a backing contact angle corresponding to a heating temperature on the surface of a recording body and using a liquid containing a compound displaying acidity or alkalinity in place of a recording agent. CONSTITUTION:A recording body has a surface, a backing contact angle of which is reduced, when it is brought into contact with a liquid under a heated state. A compound having a hydrophobic group in the side chain of a high molecular polymer is employed as a material forming such a surface, and a main chain L and the hydrophobic group R are bonded by a bonding group J. A latent image region on the surface of the recording body is formed by heating under the state in which the surface of the recording body and a contact material are brought into contact, and a liquid containing a compound displaying acidity or alkalinity is fed and attached in the latent image region. Said attached liquid is brought into contact with ink for recording held on the recording body, and a region, in which viscosity and elasticity are changed in response to a picture pattern, is shaped to said ink. The ink is brought into contact directly with a body to be transferred, and shifted, thus acquiring a recording picture. |
