<p>PURPOSE:To accurately measure the dimension of an H beam steel during hot working by a method wherein the vertical distances between the confronting flanges and between the webs of the steel are measured by two-dimensional distance detectors and one-dimensional distance detectors. CONSTITUTION:A two-dimensional laser distance detector uses a pair of two-dimensional distance sensors A1, A2 to measure the width of a flange of an H beam steel 11. A one-dimensional laser distance detector, using a pair of one- dimensional distance sensors C1, C2, measures the thickness of a web of the H beam steel 11. By measuring L1, L2: distance from the sensor A1, A2 to the flange surface of the H beam steel 11, L3, L4: distance from the sensor C1, C2 to the web of the H beam steel 11 and L: distance from the sensors A1, C1 to A2, C2 with use of the one- and two-dimensional laser distance detectors, the eccentricity S of the center of the H beam steel 11 is obtained by S={(L3- L1)-(L4-L2)}/2, the width of the flange B is obtained by B=L-(L1+L2), and the thickness of the web TW is by TW=L-(L3+L4).</p> |
