PURPOSE:To uniformize the gap between both substrates by disposing the transfer electrodes connecting the terminals provided on the one substrate to the other electrodes on the inner side of the seals enclosing a liquid crystal between the two substrates and forming it by the material in which a conductive particle is mixed in the same sealing material as a seal. CONSTITUTION:The liquid crystal 14 enclosed by the seals 40 is sealed into the spacing between a pair of the substrates 10 and 12. The electrodes 16, 18 for image formation are respectively formed on the opposite surfaces of a pair of the substrates 10, 12. Terminals 32, 34, 36 communicating with a power source are provided on the one substrate 12 and a part of the terminals 32, 34 are connected to the electrodes 18 of the one substrate 12. In addition, the other part 36 of the terminals are connected via the transfer electrodes 44 to the electrodes 16 of the other substrate 10. The transfer electrodes 44 are disposed on the inner side of the seals 40 and are formed of a material prepd. by incorporating conductive particles into the sealing material of the same kinds as the material of the seals 40. The gap between the two substrates is uniformized in this way and the durability of the liquid crystal is maintained. |
