PURPOSE: To reduce power consumption with a simplified construction in an apparatus of a gasifying plant, by loading a solid fuel in a piston withdrawn state in a conduit chamber equipped with a feed piston, rotating the conduit chamber of an outlet side, and advancing the piston to extrude the loaded fuel. CONSTITUTION: A conduit chamber 30 opposes a fuel inlet 18 as described above, and a piston 38 is located at a bottom of the conduit chamber 30 in a solid fuel loadable state. Thereupon, the conduit chamber 32 opposes a fuel outlet 20, and the piston 32 extrudes a loaded fuel and is located on the side of the outlet 20. In this state, a fuel is loaded into the conduit chamber 30 from the inlet 18. Then, the conduit chamber 30 is rotated and moved to the outlet 20 side and the conduit chamber 32 rotated to the inlet 18 side with the aid of driving means 44. The piston 38 is advanced and the piston 40 is withdrawn with the cylinder 42, and the fuel in the conduit chamber 30 is rotated and moved. The piston 38 is advanced and the piston 40 is withdrawn to extrude the fuel in the conduit chamber 30. As a result, the conduit chamber 32 is transferred to a loading standby state. This is repeated.
